ABOUT THE PROJECT
I was approached to create the design for Spaced Out Festival on behalf of Frothy Surf Co.
The festival showcased surf rock music from across Australia, with a distinct emphasis on outer space and New Years in Brisbane. The colour pallet and poster were already laid out, all he wanted was my take on the style to make these t-shirts fly off the shelf.

CHALLENGES
Baden from Frothy loves to give me the creative freedom on these projects to take it where I want to go, and this was no exception.
After a chat on the phone chatting about what he was thinking, we settled on the concept of these fish eye lens photos he had saved. There was something about the warped look and design that immediately struck a nerve.
With the project only being a 2 day event, and having 200 shirts to sell, I knew that it had to immediately jump off the walls and be something that I as a festival go-er wouldn't be able to resist. This lead me to include the dates and lineup, along with an array of bright bold colours, and ensuring the content was detailed enough to draw the audience in.

SUMMARY
The outcome was highly popular and successful, with the range selling out over the weekend and gaining positive reactions from fans and artist right throughout the event.
