Volcom x Gourami T-Shirt Collab (mock)
( 00-01 )
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Volcom has always been a brand that stood out with it's easy going messaging and punk grit.
With deep ties throughout skate, surf, snow and music dating back to the early 90's, its original motto 'Youth Against Establishment' and iconic diamond icon instantly defined it in the streetwear world with a harder edge.

THE PROBLEM
However, much has changed since 1990. While still a highly successful and popular brand, it was clear when talking to customers and staff that there was room for some nostalgic designs.
Staff suggested customers would often come in, reminiscing of the old stores, and stating how much had changed. I wanted to create a collaboration which honoured the origins of Volcom, while showcasing their modern direction and why they aren't just another surf brand.

SUMMARY
The result was a shirt that screams 100% Volcom from top to bottom.
using a punk rock inspired colour pallet to create a striking image that would standout in store and excite customers young and old. Using the bizarre subject of missing posters on milk cartons and blending it with comedic elements, it reinforces the rebelious and out-there nature of Volcom. It's not just another surf font and faded design, this is 100% authentically Volcom, and the kind of design that stops a customer dead in their tracks.
